Dawn Walk

The second Dawn Walk took place on Sunday 13th June 2010 when 137 supporters joined us for a very special day.

The morning started with a special sailing from Glenridding to Howtown, kindly donated by Ullswater Steamers. As we sailed down the lake a poignant memory roll call took place, giving the walkers time to remember loved ones. At Howtown pier we waved the walkers off as they started their 7 mile walk back to Glenridding amongst the scenic Lakeland countryside. 

At the finish line the Fundraising Team welcomed the walkers home with trays of hot bacon butties, platters of fresh fruit and refreshing bottles of orange juice. Well done to everyone who completed the route, which is challenging in places and includes ascents and descents of 1000 ft. Despite the showers of rain, everyone seemed to enjoy the day and we hope to see everyone again at a future Hospice at Home event.
