Gift Aid

Let the Chancellor add 28p to every £1 you give us!

How often does that happen but it is true!  The government is so keen to encourage charitable giving that it set up the Gift Aid Scheme.  Gift Aid allows a charity to claim back from the Inland Revenue the basic rate of income tax on any eligible donation.  To be eligible you must be a tax payer and pay more tax in the year than the charity will claim back in Gift Aid. Gift Aid only applies where no benefit is given to the donor in exchange e.g. tickets for an event or a lottery etc.  To apply simply complete a Gift Aid Declaration.  If you are taking part in a sponsored event on our behalf, or if you have a special birthday and want your guests to give donations in lieu of presents, then let us know and we will prepare forms for you which include Gift Aid details.  The Inland Revenue will only add 28p to each £1 given if the donor has signed a Gift Aid declaration. All donations to the charity through the Just Giving Website can be fully gift aided on line.
