We all know how difficult finances are at the moment with many of us thinking carefully about our spending and cutting back on unnecessary purchases. You may, therefore think that it is the wrong time for us to ask you to think about setting up a regular standing order to support this Charity. The financial crisis being experienced by everyone has affected our income too with donations this year to date down against budget 28% and interest received on our investments reduced by two thirds from the previous year.  At Hospice at Home all our valuable resources are managed carefully. Every penny raised is very important as it is used to provide nursing care and support for those at the end stages of life in their own home. Regular giving could make a big difference. If each of the readers of our Contact magazine could give as little as £5 per month this would raise an astounding £300,000 per year which is almost 63% of the total amount required to run the service after receipt of the NHS grant this year.  Please would you think carefully and see if you can afford just a small regular sum to help care for the terminally ill in North and East Cumbria. Remember to complete the Gift Aid section, if you are eligible, to enable the charity to claim an additional 28p from HM Customs and Revenue for every £1 that you give.
