The different ways you can volunteer
Volunteer Administrator
Do you have a couple of hours spare each week to help support our Valley Court office staff with duties such as photocopying and making up files?
Bereavement and Family Support Team
The Family Support Team would like volunteers to join them in providing pre and post bereavement support for patients, family members and carers. The aim of support is to enable people to find answers and to make adjustments so that they can move forward in their lives. Support is provided on a one to one basis. If you have excellent communication skills the team would really like to hear from you.
Complementary Therapy
The Complementary Therapy Team is seeking the help of qualified, Complementary Therapist’s in providing gentle touch and relaxation techniques designed to enhance the well-being and quality of life for patients, carers and those who are bereaved. If you have a Complementary Therapy qualification and some time to spare, the team would really like to hear from you.
Befriending Service
The Befriending Service is looking for volunteers, (Befrienders), to join their team. Befrienders work in the patient’s home and the community undertaking practical tasks to support patients, family members and carers.
Befrienders may support patients so they are able to enjoy social outings, for example, going out for coffee, they may accompany them to appointments, collect small
amounts of shopping on their behalf or provide companionship within their home whilst family or carers have time to themselves. If the variety in this role appeals to you, the team would really like to hear from you.
