Hospice at Home Appoints a New Chair
A MESSAGE ON BEHALF OF SHIRLEY REVELEY OUR NEW CHAIR OF TRUSTEES
I would like to take this opportunity to introduce myself as incoming chair at Hospice at Home Carlisle and North Lakeland. I have been as a trustee at the charity for approximately 5 years and am delighted to take up the role of chair so that I may continue to serve on the board of this important provider of palliative and end of life care for the local community. In my professional life I have spent several years as a nurse, midwife, home nursing sister and health visitor. I have extensive experience of teaching health care professionals, research and development in advanced clinical nursing practice and managerial experience in several organisations.
In addition to my role at Hospice at Home Carlisle & North Lakeland, I hold the title of Emeritus Professor of Nursing, The Open University and am an Honorary Fellow/Visiting Research Professor, University of Cumbria. I have experience as a board member, having been a Non–Executive Director on several health boards in Cumbria.
I will bring the skills, knowledge and experience I have gained from working in these roles to my chairing role to ensure the continued success of the charity.

Hospice at Home Carlisle and North Lakeland has had an eventful and interesting journey from its beginnings 26 years ago. We have so much to thank those early pioneers and leaders of the charity for and are very grateful for the work of our staff, volunteers, business partners, and the community that have supported us for so long and continue to do so.
