The Cumberland Building Society Supports Hospice at Home Carlisle and North Lakeland with Over £14,000 Donation from Affinity Account

The Cumberland Building Society has been a long-time business partner of Hospice at Home Carlisle and North Lakeland, providing vital support through its Affinity Account programme. This partnership has resulted in generous contributions, with over £124,395.38 raised since the start of the account.

The Cumberland donates 1% of the total amount saved within this type of account evenly to 3 charities: Hospice at Home Carlisle and North Lakeland, Hospice at Home West Cumbria and Eden Valley Hospice.

Cumbria is unique in its strong network of charities dedicated to palliative and end-of-life care, and the support of organisations like The Cumberland is essential in this landscape. Hospice at Home Carlisle and North Lakeland serves 1,500 square miles across North and East Cumbria, providing at-home care and support to patients and their families at no cost.

The recent donation of £14,703 from The Cumberland could not have come at a more critical time, as hospice care providers nationwide face increased financial pressures, especially after the Budget from the Government this week. For Hospice at Home Carlisle and North Lakeland, which relies on over 80% of its funding from donations, this contribution is especially meaningful.

Demand for end-of-life care is projected to rise, and Hospice at Home is dedicated to enabling people to remain at home, surrounded by their loved ones. The charity provides free, high-quality care for patients and families across North and East Cumbria, serving individuals aged 18 and over.
