Join us with a fun challenge to get your new year off to a healthy start!
Last year, patients and families across 1,500 sq miles of Carlisle, and North and East Cumbria were supported with an incredible 12,300 hours of compassionate end of life and palliative care, at home, free of charge. Â Every hour of this provided expert nursing care to someone in the final days, weeks and months of their life, ensuring that their comfort and dignity were respected. It gave respite to a family caring for a loved one, provided complimentary therapies to ease pain and anxiety. It provided occupational therapy, supporting with techniques to manage symptoms and provide equipment that makes living at home easier. It offered befriending undertake practical jobs, or sit and chat a while, and bereavement counselling to prepare families for the death of a loved one, and to support them in their grief.
To honour every hour, we invite you to walk 12,300 steps every day for a month—one for every hour spent supporting patients and families on their end of life journey.
