Hospice at Home announces new Ambassador
Hospice at Home Carlisle and North Lakeland Welcomes Ian Milburn as Charity Ambassador
Hospice at Home Carlisle and North Lakeland is delighted to announce the appointment of Ian Milburn as its new Charity Ambassador. Ian, a well-known figure in Carlisle and a passionate advocate for community causes, brings with him a wealth of experience, connections, and dedication to making a difference.
As the Director of Cumbria Renewables and the founder of IM Events, Ian is deeply embedded in the local business and charity sectors. His involvement in numerous charity events and his ability to inspire others to contribute make him an ideal advocate for Hospice at Home.
Ian’s connection with Hospice at Home is both professional and personal. Earlier this year, his family received vital support from the charity during his late father’s illness. Although his father ultimately passed away in Eden Valley Hospice, Ian acknowledges the crucial role Hospice at Home played in offering the option of care at home, ensuring his family felt supported during such a difficult time.
“I am honoured to be named a Charity Ambassador for Hospice at Home Carlisle and North Lakeland,” Ian shared. “Their work in the community is invaluable, providing care and comfort to families when they need it most. This charity means a great deal to me personally, and I’m committed to raising awareness and encouraging others to support their vital services.”
Ian has already demonstrated his commitment by gifting Hospice at Home 20 free places for the upcoming Run Carlisle event in March 2025, organised by IM Events. In addition, he is dedicating major fundraising efforts next year to support Hospice at Home, Eden Valley Hospice, and Pancreatic Cancer Action in memory of his father.
Debbie McKenna, CEO of Hospice at Home Carlisle and North Lakeland, commented:
“We are thrilled to welcome Ian as our new Charity Ambassador. His enthusiasm, extensive network, and deep understanding of the importance of our services will be invaluable as we strive to reach more people and secure vital funding. Ian’s personal connection to Hospice at Home adds a heartfelt layer to his advocacy, and we are excited about the impact he will have.”
Charity Ambassadors play a key role in increasing awareness, inspiring fundraising, and thanking supporters for their contributions. Ian’s involvement will not only help Hospice at Home extend its reach across the community but also inspire local businesses and individuals to get involved in making a difference.
