Marmalade Festival

Since 2005, the Marmalade Festival has united the community, celebrated marmalade makers, and raised vital funds for Hospice at Home Carlisle and North Lakeland. What began as a local event has grown globally, inspiring festivals in Australia and Japan.

In October 2024, festival founder Jane Hasell-McCosh received The Order of the Rising Sun from Japan for her contributions to UK-Japan relations, a testament to the festival’s worldwide impact.

Through the £10 entry fee, funds support free end-of-life care for local patients and families. Thanks to the sponsors of the event, 100% of the entry fee is donated to hospice care and the festival continues to make a difference.
