Covid-19 Volunteer Bulletin 1

Covid-19 Volunteer Bulletin 1

25.03.2019

Hello to our wonderful Volunteers

On behalf of all at Hospice at Home Carlisle and North Lakeland we wanted to forward you the first edition of our special Covid-19 Volunteer Bulletin, we are intending to send out email updates on a regular basis to keep you connected in the difficult days that lie ahead.

Whatever your Volunteer role is within Hospice at Home we truly appreciate your contribution and support and although the future will bring challenges we do hope you will continue your generosity and commitment to help our local Charity.

As you are aware each day brings more stringent measures from the government in the race against the Covid-19 virus. We think that many of us are actually relived to see these actions in place with the hope the sooner we do, the better it will be in the long run.

With the additional restrictions this has caused increasing difficulties for Hospice at Home whether at work or with our families. Separation from extended members of the family or indeed those very close to us is probably the worst of these difficulties.

Although challenging the Hospice at Home Clinical Team are continuing to care for patients, and all staff are working very hard to achieve this.  All members of the Fundraising Office are now working remote from home and their plan at present is to ensure our Contact magazine is posted out to all Supporters asap and a fundraising strategy is in place which will maximise funds via online platforms pages, as you will be aware all events for the near future have now been cancelled.   To keep up to date with all fundraising and clinical activity please visit www.hospiceathome.co.uk and follow our Facebook page on https://www.facebook.com/HospiceatHomeCarlisleandNorthLakeland/   May we also kindly ask you to help by sharing all the fundraising appeals and clinical news.

Once again thank you for your support, if you have any queries please do not hesitate to contact Fiona on 07901854507 or email Julie julie@hospiceathome.co.uk .

We do hope that you all remain as safe as possible and look forward to when we can all work together again in the community raising awareness and funds to ensure end of life care in the home can be achieved.

Yours sincerely

Fiona Stobart Chief Executive and Julie Blundell Head of Income Generation and Marketing
