“I was on call last night and received a referral at 19.30 for a man who lived alone and needed overnight support urgently for end of life care. I had no nurse available. I messaged an off duty nurse on the off chance she could work. She kindly replied straight away and said yes! Care was confirmed for the gentlemen by 19.55. So, care was found and confirmed in 25 minutes. Obviously we always try to do this in urgent cases but in these difficult times we are still responding quickly to requests for help”
